We’ll deliver a better travel experience with simpler ticketing, newer trains, faster journeys and more services. Just some of the improvements we’ve got planned include:
- Introducing a new fleet of 90 Bombardier trains to our suburban routes
- Increasing peak time capacity by nearly a third with 52,000 more seats to and from Waterloo
- Reducing mainline journey times and introducing more services and more frequent trains
- Implementing a £90m network-wide station investment programme
- Improving accessibility with step-free access, tactile steps, hearing loops and more automatic doors, priority seats and accessible toilets at our stations
- Providing free Wi-Fi on our mainland trains and at all our stations (5 times more bandwidth)
- Delivering live updates to passengers
- Making ticketing easier with new machines, Advance tickets, a smartcard scheme, mobile phone barcode tickets, flexible season tickets, debit schemes and discounts for 16-18 year olds
- 100 Customer Ambassadors with mobile ticket machines
- Improving passenger assistance with Blue Assist cards and reduced notice times
