For some of our roles, if you are successful at screening stage, we may ask you to book a space on one of our assessment days. Don’t worry the Recruitment Team is here to provide you with guidance throughout the process.
Our Assessment Centres are a fun and interactive day where we get to know all about the candidates that have applied for our roles.
Our day is an Lumo engagement experience for our potential future colleagues to showcase their skills. We have designed several activities, including group team building activities, one-on-one role play, speed dating interviews and customer experience exercises.
This is your opportunity to show us who you are, how you interact with others and ultimately, why you are the right person for Lumo. During the day you will meet with a number of Lumo colleagues and will be given an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
If you are successful, you will be invited to a culture interview with our Managing Director, Helen Wylde.
Lumo is a digital business, so, where candidates are not required to attend an assessment day, we will conduct the interviews through video conferencing. We provide hints and tips to prepare you for the perfect competency-based interview. We recommend that you research the STAR format for answering your questions.
All candidates that pass the first round of interviews will be asked to join us for a culture-based interview with our Managing Director, Helen Wylde.
This interview is a great opportunity to get a good understanding of Lumo and ask any questions you may have had since your first interview. This interview will also be over a video conferencing platform.
Congratulations! We will send you a conditional offer of employment, this is pending a successful medical that we will arrange for you. The medical will check your general health and will also screen for drugs and alcohol. We do regular screening throughout our colleagues' employment.
Once your medical has been returned, and it is clear, we will send you a formal offer and your contract. Have a good read over these and ask any questions you may have. Once you are happy, you can accept our offer of employment on your candidate portal.
All colleagues will have a number of documents that they will then need to provide, including Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
We will give you access to our colleague portal for new joiners so you can get to know Lumo a little more in the run up to your start date.
To get you ready for your first day in your new role, we need you to complete a number of tasks. These are all detailed in the colleague portal to help you along.
Criminal Record Check – We complete a DBS – Disclosure Baring
Service check on all colleagues.
References – You will need to provide us with 2 references or three years history.
Attire Fitting – For you to arrive dressed to impress on day one, you will need to complete an attire fitting using our digital sizer, your new attire will be delivered to your home.
P45 / New Starter Checklist – You will need to send your P45 to us as soon as you have received it from your previous employer, or you can complete a New Starter Checklist if you have not received this.
When day one finally arrives, we will have your IT and safety kit ready for you to hit the ground running. You will be introduced to all colleagues and what their role is within Lumo.
